A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 3, at Galbreaith Pickard Hilltop Chapel in Willow Park, beginning at 12:00 p.m., followed by an inurnment at the DFW National Cemetery.
Dale was the son of Carl and Opal Petree. He graduated from John Marshall High School in Oklahoma City and attended Central State College in Edmond, Oklahoma until he was drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After being discharged, he went to work in the oil and gas industry as a petroleum accountant. He first worked with Cities Service Oil before moving to Dallas and working for Sabine Corporation and eventually retiring from Quick Silver Corporation. Dale was also an independent auditor, as well as teaching a class for PDI. He was a member of Dallas Chapter of Petroleum Accountants Society, once serving as President. Dale was also involved in the North American Petroleum Conferences. He was Vice President of his HOA, serving for several years and very involved in their activities. Dale also volunteered for Meals on Wheels.
Dale Petree loved his work and the organizations he was involved with, but his biggest joy was his family. He was always there cheering them on in whatever they were participating in. Dale loved going to as many of their events as he could manage. He enjoyed watching his children become parents and loved watching his grandchildren grow, relishing in how they developed and what they would someday do with their lives. Dale was so proud of his children and the adults they turned out to be and proud of his grandchildren and the young adults they were becoming.
Dale was preceded in death by his father; mother; sister, Viola Brewer and her husband, Buddy; in laws, Charles and Billie Weaver; and brother in law, Charles Weaver.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra; son, Robert Petree; daughter, Staci Petree Hughes (Rick); grandchildren, Tyler, Hanna, and Sara Petree and John Hughes; brother, David Petree (Mary); sister, Betty Baughman (Wayne); and numerous nieces and nephews.
The void he left will be hard to fill. He will be dearly missed by family, friends, and coworkers.
