James Ray Wicker, age 73, passed away suddenly at his home on January 23, 2019. James was born in Dallas, Texas to William Henry Wicker and Mary Ada Mitchell Wicker on April 1st, 1945. He was an outstanding woodworker and enjoyed it as one of his main hobbies for many years. James also enjoyed the peace and quiet fishing and the occasional round of golf with close friends and family. He will always be remembered for the love and appreciation he had for his pet dogs and how much he enjoyed spending time outdoors with them. He was a lifelong avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers. Most recently, the delight of his life was spending time with his three granddaughters, whom he adored. James was a member of Beulah Baptist Church and loved listening to Southern Gospel Music. After exiting the corporate world, with a specialty in inventory control, James found enjoyment in working for Millsap, Poolville, and Peaster schools in the transportation departments and as a mechanic and bus driver.
Mr. Wicker is survived by his wife, Johna Estes Wicker of Millsap; son, Brent Wicker and wife Allison of Peaster; daughter, Tina Durr and Husband John of Azle; son, Lloyd Huddleston and wife Laraine of Santo; granddaughters, Dailyn Kaye Durr, Scottie Kaye Wicker and Steele Elise Wicker; sisters, Mary Lynn Peters and husband Scott of Oklahoma City, and Patricia Persick and husband Sonny of Baton Rouge; and brother Roger Wicker and wife Cathy of Dallas; and a host of extended family.
