Khristopher Lynn Knight

At the young age of 39, Khris left this life behind to start a new journey in eternity, with his Lord and Savior. 39 has a biblical representation of repentance and forgiveness, which is something Khris was well-versed in. In Mark 9:27 it is written, “But Jesus took him by the hand, and helped him to his feet, and he stood up.” Khris had thankfully found his way back to Jesus just three years ago and had since been successfully turning his life around. And in the true nature of a follower of Christ, he was sharing his journey, and his Jesus, with those the Lord put in his path.

Khris was a beautiful, creative, intelligent, and talented child who grew up to serve our country in the USMC, from the age of 18 to the age of 24. He tried his hand at many things, as he could do virtually anything. He taught himself to play the guitar because his dad played and sang. He loved to fish and be near the water. The sea soothed his soul, which is probably what kept him in West Palm Beach, Florida. Well, that and the food. He was a big foodie and loved to cook. Khris was fearless and adventurous as an adult, climbing 250’ to the top of wind turbines as a technician and diving to the bottom of the ocean to swim with marine life. He loved hunting, nature, and anything outdoors. He truly loved his dog, Sammy girl, a 15-year-old Chihuahua.

A common theme in Khris’ life seemed to be the number three, which biblically conveys the meaning of completeness. What an honor to have completed the tasks the Lord has given each of us by the age of 39. In Colossians 3:15 the apostle Paul writes, “Let your heart be always guided by the peace of the Anointed One who called you to peace as part of His one body. And always be thankful.” Finding peace and thankfulness amid grief can prove to be challenging; but that is what Khris would want for each of us, as we can try to find comfort in knowing he is now talking with his Pawpaw, and fishing with Jesus.

Khris was survived by his Nana, Judy Pollard; mother and stepdad, Tamara and Blaine Peacock; and brother, Aaron Fontenot and fiancé, Michelle Bonnette, all of Weatherford; father, Kelly Knight of Winters; four sisters, Kyli Perrie, and Shelby, Baily, and Brenna Knight; Aunt Pam of Arkansas; stepbrother, Colton Peacock of Fort Worth; stepsister and brother-in-law, Bliss and Roy Young of Puerto Rico; and his lifelong best friend and USMC Brother, Blake LeBaron, of Colorado; as well as multiple nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.

Khris was preceded in death by his Pawpaw, Joe Morrow of Anson; Undaddy and Unmama, Joe and Nona Knight; aunt, “Teta” Theresa; uncle, Billy Don Bradshaw; and his Mamaw, Ruby Peacock.

There will be a private memorial at a later date.
