Linda Kay Smith, 72, passed away from this life on Sunday, June 25, 2023. She was born December 30, 1950, in Dallas, Texas to R. B. Compton and Clydeen (Denton) Compton. She worked as a banker for Wells Fargo for 18 years and was an independent Landman for 9 years. She was the Treasurer of Lake Weatherford Community Association for 12 years and a member of the Bethesda United Methodist Church. She was a dedicated leader and her contributions to her community will be deeply missed.
Linda thrived around the water’s edge; she loved fishing, pontooning, and taking sunset pictures. She loved traveling (Caribbean, Hawaii, Santa Fe, and grandkid trips), music (Stevie Nix, James Taylor, John Denver) and baseball. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and a good friend to many. She was dearly loved and her wit and humor will be missed.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, R. B. Compton and Clydeen Compton.
Linda is survived by her beloved husband of 34 years, Gregory Paul Smith of Weatherford, Texas; daughter, Angela Harris and husband, John, son, Brad Dominy and wife, Mimi; stepdaughter, Casey Allen and husband, Shawn; stepdaughter, Carrie Carney; eight grandchildren, Kayla, Karson, Caroline, Lauren, Tristen, Gauge, Aidan and Aislinn; sister, Carol Draxler; and nephews, Scott and Todd Wingo.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Galbreaith Pickard Hilltop Chapel, 4941 I-20 Frontage Rd., Willow Park, Texas 76087, and will be announced prior to that time.
