Linda Louise Bumgardner, 63, of Weatherford, passed away in a local care facility after an extended illness. Linda was born January 25, 1950, in Weatherford, to Mary Emma and Leo Lucas Loiacano.
Linda was a graduate of Weatherford High School and Weatherford College. She married Bruce Wayne Bumgardner and supported him through his career in the Air Force. They were stationed around the country but returned to Weatherford following his retirement. Then he worked for Lockheed for several years before going to work for the Bureau of Engraving and Printing Fort Worth Texas.
Linda was a homemaker who loved to can vegetables, cook and sew. She was active in scouting and the Y.M.C.A. with her children and a member of Weatherford Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of the International Boer Goat Association, Inc., raising nearly 200 goats at one time. She was known to her nieces and nephews as “Aunt Lala.”
Mrs. Bumgardner was preceded in death by her husband and her mother.
Survivors include her children, Lucas Bumgardner of Weatherford, Gerald Bumgardner of Arlington, and David York of Colorado; father, Leo Loiacano; sisters, Patricia Melson and Judy Myers and husband, Ray; brother, James Loiacano and wife, Shawn, all of Weatherford; numerous nieces and nephews, and her companion canines, Scarlett and Angel.
Funeral: 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.
Visitation: Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
Burial: Memory Gardens.
