Marjorie Ellen Burdett

Funeral services for Marjorie Ellen Burdett of Weatherford, Texas will be held at Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 1:00 in the afternoon.  Jesse Tunnell will officiate the services and burial will follow at Memory Gardens of the Valley on Mineral Wells Highway.  Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 on Friday evening at Galbreaith-Pickard.  Marjorie was born on March 28, 1925 and grew up in Spearman, Texas.  She met her husband of 62 years, JV Burdett, while both were attending Texas Tech University.  They lived in O’Donnell and Lamesa until they moved to Weatherford in 1998.  She blessed all those around her with a loving, generous spirit.  Her strong faith in the Lord gave her the assurance of an everlasting home in Heaven.  She was a member of Brock Baptist Church.  Beloved mother, grandmother and friend went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 12, 2009.  Throughout her life, Marjorie enjoyed bridge, gardening, golf and a passion for cooking, which she loved to share with her family and friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband, JV, her parents, brother and sister, and is survived by her son Steve Burdett and his wife Debbie, daughter Sally Neff and her husband John, and her grandchildren Brian Burdett, Brittany Irons and Brandon Neff.  Marjorie will be missed by a host of family and wonderful friends.
