Raymond Maurice Curfman, 89, passed from this life on Friday, October 21, 2022. Affectionately known as Maurice, he was born in Rockwall, Texas on February 16, 1933, to Jack Curfman and Leonora (Caughey) Curfman. Maurice proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was employed for Lockheed Martin for many years. He will fondly be remembered as a good, ol' cowboy. Maurice was a member of the Parker County Sheriff's Posse, participating in calf and steer roping, as well as saddle bronc and bareback riding. He was inducted into the United Professional Rodeo Association in 2019. Maurice was a church member of Centerpoint Baptist Church in Weatherford, Texas. His lively nature will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Maurice is survived by his son, Mark Curfman; daughter, Becca Alcorn and husband, Kent; granddaughter, Krista Alcorn; granddaughter, Bailey Alcorn; and numerous loving family and friends.
Maurice was preceded in death by his beloved wife Norma. They were married for fifty years before she passed away. Jack Curfman, their son, passed away after Norma.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at Bethesda Cemetery, in Weatherford, Texas.
The family will receive friends during a visitation on Monday, October 24, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 North Elm Street, Weatherford, Texas.
