Walter "Wally" Soper

Walter “Wally/Skeeter” W. Soper, 65, of Weatherford passed away, on Sunday, April 28, 2019, in Fort Worth.
Wally was born January 7, 1954, in Richmond, Indiana, to Franklin and Corrine Soper. Once his parents passed away, Wally helped to raise his younger brothers and sisters. Wally gave himself to the Lord at age 13. He proudly served his country in the US Army from 1972-1975. On May 29, 1982, Wally married Catherine Lee and together had one son, Roland. Wally and Cathy always had their nieces and nephews on the weekends and enjoyed having a good time together. He also enjoyed outdoor activities including horses and fishing particularly with his brother, Frank. In 2014, he had open heart surgery, lung cancer in 2016, and was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2018. He fought all his illnesses with a vengeance – continuing to work all the time. Wally was a family man who enjoyed time spent with his family – including his wife, children, and particularly with his grandchildren, Mayson and Knox.
Wally is survived by his wife, Catherine; his son, Roland and his wife Shelby Soper; his grandchildren, Mayson and Knox; his siblings, Frank, Leslie, Wesley, Jessie, Chris, and Martina; his extended family, Felicia and Westin; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Wally was preceded in death by his parents.
