Al Ray Carter

April 11, 1950 — August 9, 2014

Alden Ray Carter, 64, passed away at home Saturday, August 9, 2014, in Fort Worth. Born April 11, 1950, to Jean and Mary Carter, in Strawn, Texas; Al was the eldest of two children. Al grew up in the Weatherford area, attending Weatherford High School and Weatherford College where he was President of the Rodeo Association. When Al made friends, they were friends for a lifetime.

Working as a car salesman, he met Penny Julien. He didn’t sell her a car but three weeks after meeting they were engaged to be married. Al enjoyed woodworking and was very mechanically inclined. After purchasing a broken hot tub, he was able to fix it and began his own spa repair business. Al enjoyed being outdoors, fishing and golfing with the guys. He was a great trivia buff and always glad to share his knowledge. He will be greatly missed.

Al leaves behind his bride of almost 24 years, Penny Carter; their ‘furry’ children: dog, Missy and cats, Gracie Lu, Bert, and Ernie; sister, Sandra “Sandi” Pearson and husband, Randy; father and mother in law, Leo and Linda Batchelor; sister in law, Debbie Traut; nieces, Lauren Taylor Zeigler and husband, Michael, April Komiensky, and Katie Traut; great nieces, Evee Mae, Jordan; and great nephew, Carter.

A Celebration of Life will be Thursday, August 14, 2014, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
