Albert Franco Ozuna died peacefully in his sleep on October 23, 2024, in Hudson Oaks, Texas, at the age of 89. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Celia Ozuna and their children: Carlos Ozuna and his wife, Rosalinda; Rene Ozuna and his wife, Barbara; V’Annie Woolery and her husband, Todd; son-in-law, Ronald Cope; many grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lita Cope, and granddaughter, Tamara Ozuna.
Albert was born on March 13, 1935, in Karnes City, Texas. He moved to Fort Worth in 1942 and had lost both parents by the age of seven. He was raised by his brothers and attended school through the 7th grade. He began working at a meatpacking plant in the Fort Worth Stockyards at the age of 16 and continued working as a butcher for the next sixty years, only retiring at age 76 when Kennedy’s Sausage closed its Weatherford location in 2011.
Albert and Celia were married in 1955 and began building their life together. His children will remember him as a selfless, strong, and hard-working man who cherished their mother above all things and always referred to her as “the best thing that ever happened to him.”
Rosary will be on October 27, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., and visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., at Galbreaith Pickard Hilltop Chapel, in Willow Park. The funeral service is scheduled for Monday, October 28, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., at Galbreaith Pickard Hilltop Chapel. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Park, in Fort Worth.
