Alpha Lee Hedger, 80, passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, in Fort Worth. Alpha was born August 7, 1941, in Osseo, Minnesota, to Sherlie Reuben Hedger and Ada Cochran Hedger.
Alpha grew up in Odessa, Texas, and that is where he met and eventually married his beloved wife, Sandra. After proudly serving in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Germany for two years, Alpha and Sandra returned to Odessa to raise their family of three sons and one daughter.
Alpha worked as a welder and a master mechanic and never met a piece of equipment he couldn’t fix. He took great pride in his work and his personal projects, such as building carports, boat sheds and numerous other structures. Alpha and Sandra eventually moved to Possum Kingdom Lake where he enjoyed fishing, boating and living the "lake life."
He loved watching his kids, grandkids and great grandkids grow up, taking great pride in their accomplishments, but most of all being a devoted husband and constant companion to his loving wife Sandra for 62 years.
Alpha was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Irene Ray, Eugene Hedger, and Kenneth Hedger; and his grandson, Cory Welch.
Alpha is survived by his wife, Sandra Sue Hedger; children, Allan Hedger and wife, Ellen, Brian Hedger and wife, Lisa, Dennis Hedger, Crissy Welch and husband, Shawn; eight grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
