Altha Ramona Burris passed away on October 1, 2020, at the age of 93. She was born in Durant Oklahoma on September 24, 1927, to Rufus and Iva Doss and was one of six children. Ray, as she was known to friends and family, moved to White Settlement with her husband, Herbert from Texarkana in 1958. She was a retired home maker and floral designer. She worked as a floral designer at Cherry Lane Florist and Dillon Florist in White Settlement and was a member of the First Baptist Church of White Settlement. Over the last couple of years, she loved her weekly trips to El Fenix and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert (Pop) Burris, her parents, four sisters, and brother.
Ray is survived by her daughter, Linda Dixon; son, Mike Burris and his wife, Rhuenell; son, Phillip and his wife, Rebel; son, Rick Burris; and son, Todd Burris; her grandchildren, Karey Wilson, Shane Donaldson, Mandy Jenkins and her husband, Chris, Tiffany Burris, Lindsey Walker and her husband, Chris, and Josh Burris and his wife, Christina; ten great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the American Heart Association or Community Hospice of Texas in Ray’s memory.
