Amanda Leigh Jones

Amanda Leigh Jones, 32, passed from this life on Wednesday, February 15, 2023. Amanda was born on February 14, 1991, in Galveston, Texas to Sharon Elaine Freeman and adoptive parents, Jeff Jones, Sr. and Cheryl Walker. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree and became an Investment Counselor for Fidelity Investments. Beyond her career, Amanda had an adventurous spirit and loved being outdoors. Her hobbies included camping, hiking amongst the trees, hunting, fishing, and horseback riding. Outside of being in the outdoors, Amanda’s greatest joy was being with her four-legged companion Clutch. Amanda’s beautiful smile, teeth, and deep blue eyes drew you in. Her face was always glowing. Her feisty spirit and her sharp wit made her a force to be reckoned with and made her so much fun. She and her “Ita” always played word games. She loved to learn new words and would never be found without a book and a journal at her side. Amanda Panda was not a “Fussy Girl”, the plainer the better for our girl. One thing is for sure, she didn’t mind a messy room and always had a reason why. Amanda always fought for her beliefs and stood up for those she loved. Amanda and her giant hugs will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and coworkers. Nobody hugged tighter and more genuinely than she did. Amanda Panda was so deeply loved.

Amanda is survived by her adoptive parents, Cheryl (Bobby) Walker of Fort Worth, Texas and Jeff Jones, Sr. of Mission, Texas; birth mother, Sharon Elaine Freeman of Aledo, Texas; brothers, Jeff Jones, Jr. (Brandi) of Justin, Texas and Derek Jones (Ashlee) of Lubbock, Texas; nieces, Brianna, Hadley and Ava; Nephew, Ryder; her loving grandparents, David and Jane “Ita” Bilodeau of Aledo, Texas; adoring boyfriend, Chris Gaddy of Fort Worth, Texas; her loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Amanda was preceded in death by her grandparents, Myrtice and Stanley Carney of Weatherford, Texas.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
