Ann Elaine Ayers

Ann Elaine Wehrman Ayers, 85, of Weatherford, passed away on Friday February 26, 2016.  Ann was born October 5, 1930, in Brazos County, Texas to Lucille Higgs and Henry Wehrman. She was a descendant of the Higgs and Kopecky Families of the Brazos River Bottom and the Wehrman and Blazek Families of the Smetana Community. She graduated in 1948 from Bryan High School and attended Texas Tech University. In 1950, she married Lewis Ayers, Jr., and they settled in Fort Worth, where they lived for 60 years. In 2011, she and Lewis moved to Weatherford to be near their daughter.   She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Albert Wehrman; and her son, David L. Ayers.   Ann is survived by her husband, Lewis Ayers Jr; daughter, Amy Adams, and her husband, of Weatherford; grandson, Matthew Schafer Adams, of Austin; granddaughters Callie Higgs Adams, of Weatherford and Jennifer Glidewell (David's daughter), of Connecticut; and one great-grandchild.
