Anna Sue Phy Box

Anna Sue Phy Box, 79, of Weatherford, Texas, passed away March 20, 2021, with her husband and one of her daughters by her side. 

Visitation: 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Saturday, March 27, 2021, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. Funeral service: 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 28 2021, at North Side Baptist Church. Graveside service: 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 29, 2021, at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas. 

Memorials may be made to North Side Baptist Church Building Fund. 

Anna was born to the late Vada (Clement) and Ray Phy, June 22, 1942, in Phillips, Texas. She lived in Borger until 1963 when she left with her husband, Kenneth, to follow his military career. 

Anna was an accomplished cake and candy maker for many years. As owner of Anna’s Cake and Candy Supplies, she created wedding, birthday, and anniversary cakes, as well as coordinating weddings for numerous people. She then served as the associate director for the Parker/Palo Pinto Baptist Association and was heavily involved at her church, North Side Baptist, where she served for over 15 years on the Bereavement Committee and started programs such as MOPS. 

Anna loved Disney movies, Mini and Mickey Mouse, Elvis, singing in her church choir and playing the piano. But her favorite activity was spending time with her family, traveling and spoiling her grandchildren.

Anna is survived by her husband of 59 years, Kenneth Box; their two daughters, Delann Needham (Rick) and Denise Daffron (Drew); sister, Cathy Jones; grandsons, Kristoffer Needham (Damaris) and Austin Needham; and nieces, Amy Lynn Baxter Fernandez (Frank) and Allison Kay Baxter.
