Annie Pearl Greene

June 15, 1906 — January 12, 2012

Annie Pearl Greene, 105, of Weatherford, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2012, in a local care facility. Annie was born June 15, 1906, in Arkansas, to Eva Pauline and L. L. “Bud” Lothridge. She came to the Central Community of Parker County in a covered wagon at the age of five and remained a resident throughout her lifetime.

Mrs. Greene was a founding member of York Avenue Baptist Church and Santa Fe Baptist. She was a teacher and earned a cosmetology certificate. In the old Campbell Memorial Hospital she was a nurse’s aide and cook. She later volunteered at Keeneland Nursing Center and eventually resided there until her passing.

Mrs. Greene was preceded in death by her husband, Jess Q. Greene; daughter, Margaret Greene Nichols Ross; sister, Dona Thomas; brothers, Cleo, Otto and Floyd Lothridge; niece, Retha Jones; and her parents.

Survivors include five grandchildren, Virginia Nichols Gandee, Penny Nichols Scott, Michael Dale Nichols, Leslie Nichols Kehrer and Mark Dwayne Nichols; ten great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; niece, Glenda Drew; cousins, Rachael McGill and Carolyn Ogen; and several great nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. Visitation is from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home. Burial will be in City Greenwood Cemetery.
