It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Arvil Jackson, age 87, who passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2025.
Arvil was born February 11, 1938, in Page, Oklahoma, to George Jackson and Bessie (Owens) Jackson. He moved to Fort Worth from Oklahoma in 1958 to go to work for the City of Fort Worth on July 14, 1958, where he worked for 33 years, and retired as a Senior Engineering Tech III.
Arvil married the love of his life, Joyce Pickle, on August 2, 1958, in Poteau, Oklahoma. They moved from Fort Worth to Aledo, in September 1972. He attended Doxology Church, formerly McKinney Bible Church, for 44 years.
Arvil was preceded in death by his parents, George and Bessie Jackson, and by eleven siblings.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Jackson of Aledo, Texas; sons, Mark Jackson and wife, Paula, and Chris Jackson and wife, Laurie; grandchildren, Meredith Bishop and husband, Matt, Cole Jackson and wife, Victoria, and Julianne Fink and husband, Brennan; great-grandson, Sean Fink; brother-in-law Ralph Pickle and wife, Betty; sister-in-law Joan Jackson; nieces Tina Cleaver, Kim Anderson, Sami Pickle, Pam Self and Betty Willhite; and nephews Tony Jackson, Tim Jackson, Wayne Pickle and Danny Jordan.
The visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, March 30, 2025, at the Galbreaith Pickard Hilltop Chapel, 4941 I-20 Frontage Rd, Willow Park, Texas 76087.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 31, 2025, at the Annetta United Methodist Church, 2836 W FM 5, Aledo, Texas 76008, and following the service, burial will take place at Annetta Cemetery.
