Imogene, as she was called by those who knew her best,was born April 1, 1926, in
Denison, to the late Henry R. and Leah Vest Moore. She had a passion for life and
learning never fearing to reinvent herself. Friends and family benefited from her words
of wisdom, including the words “Spend it wisely” whenever she gave a gift of money. She

Bethesda United Methodist Church where she was a cherished organist and pianist.
Imogene remained at Bethesda UMC the remainder of her life.

Imogene had many loves, but first and foremost was her Lord Jesus Christ and her
family. Music was also Imogene’s passion. She was a church musician most of her adult
life and enthusiastically taught herself to play any instrument that caught her eye. The
most recent being the harmonica. She would entertain family, friends and pets by
playing any number of traditional or folk instruments.She desired joyful gatherings and
would provide a spectacle with her antics as Iggie the clown. Imogene was a very
thoughtful, creative soul who loved sewing, crochet, writing poetry, and collecting old
cookbooks.

Imogene was preceded in death by her husband of 20 years Malcolm Perry Hammond;
her parents; two sisters, Lovina Williams and Ethell Susan; and dear friend and
companion, Woodrow Lamkin.
