Aubrey Allen Swihart, 81, passed away June 28, 2010 in Weatherford, TX. She was born August 16, 1928 in Traveling Timber Town Clebit Camp #2, OK, the daughter of Hobson and Grace Allen.
Aubrey was preceded in death by her parents, Hobson and Grace Allen, first husband Pete Blackburn, a brother, Dale Allen, and sisters, Wilma Mize, Helen Sproufskee and Mildred Peters. Aubrey lived most of her life in Oklahoma City. She was a secretary at Tinker Air Force Base and retired from the civil service. While working at Tinker, she met her husband, Leo Swihart. She and Leo were married 54 years. Upon retirement from the civil service, Aubrey and Leo spent many winters in Brownsville, TX. Aubrey was an avid collector of brass school bells and antique Depression glass.
Aubrey leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Leo Swihart, of the home; sons, Joe Blackburn and wife Mary of St. Louis, MO and Steve Swihart and wife Linda of Weatherford, TX; daughters, Sherry Britz of Spokane, WA; and Peggy Danford of Vancouver, WA; brothers Earl Allen and wife Robbie of Broken Bow, OK and Tom Allen and wife Toni of Broken Bow, OK; and sister-in-law Alene Allen of Broken Bow, OK. She has nine grandchildren and six great-children along with several nieces and nephews and many friends.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm Friday, July 2, 2010 at Hochatown Cemetery in Oklahoma. Rev. Don Lester will officiate.
