Weatherford – Audrey May Rowland, went peacefully to be with her Lord on Sunday, June 6, 2010, with her loving daughters at her bedside when she passed.
Memorial Service: A celebration of life will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, June 19, 2010, at Victory Baptist Church, Weatherford, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
Audrey was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother. Loved and adored by all that knew her, she will be missed by her family and friends.
On November 12, 1955, she married Leland Bennett Rowland, Jr., the man of her dreams. He was stationed at Carswell Air Force Base and they began their military life together, retiring after 20 years of service.
Audrey was a member of The Theatre Off The Square and enjoyed performing and the camaraderie with her fellow thespians. One of her favorite experiences in life was being on the stage in Branson, Mo.
A hearfelt thanks to the office of Dr. Ray Page, his staff and all the wonderful nurses of the Weatherford Regional Medical Center’s ICU, for their excellent care given to Audrey in the last days of her brave and courageous battle with cancer.
Audrey was preceded in death by her mother, Geneva Riddle.
Survivors: Devoted husband of 54 years, Leland Rowland, Jr.; daughters, Kay Huse and husband, Greg, of Weatherford; Susan Shaver and husband, Larry Watters, of Monroe, Wash.; son, Michael Rowland and wife, Maria, of Seattle, Wash.; brothers, Bill Riddle and wife, Dorie of Yorba Linda, Ca.; Jess Riddle and wife, Sally of Lakewood, Ca.; grandchildren, Andrea Eden, of Azle; Jason and Jarrod Shaver of Westminster, Ca.; Larry Watters, of Monroe, Wash.; Christian, Ayden and Kaiberly Rowland, of Seattle, Wash.; great-grandchildren, Trent Eden, Chase and Rio Shaver. Her constant companion, her dog, Bandit.
