Ava Ruth Smith

Ava Ruth Smith, 85, of Bedford, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2014 in a Fort Worth hospital.  Ava was born June 6, 1928 in Brock, Texas to Jo Bell Henderson and Milton Wilson Woodruff. Ava and her late husband Eugene D. Smith were the owners of Hurst Jewelry and Gifts.  Ava was a people person and enjoyed spending time with her family.  She was a member of the Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and three siblings, Verl Woodruff, Amo Collins and Curtis Burke. Ava is survived by her sons, Oliver Kite and wife Melody of Bedford and Ronnie Kite and wife Sharron of Bedford; sisters, Hazel Park of Richland Hills and Wilma Ware of Azle; grandchildren, Shane Kite of Temple, Georgia. Christine Jones of Grand Prairie, Katherine Williamson and husband Scott of Lakeside, Jason Kite of Lott, Tx, Richard Kite of Grand Prairie, Daryl Curtis and wife Carol of Euless, and Rani Garner of Euless.  In addition to seven great grandchildren she had one great great grandchild.

Funeral: 11 AM, Wednesday June 4, 2014 in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel with interment to follow in Brock Cemetery. Visitation: 6-8 PM, Tuesday at the funeral home.
