Avis "Gigi" Marie Smith

Avis “GiGi” Marie Smith, 94, of Fort Worth, passed away peacefully on Friday afternoon, January 3, 2020, in Weatherford.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 8, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 North Elm Street, in Weatherford. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mexia Cemetery, in Mexia, Texas.

Gigi was born August 20, 1925, in Brady, Texas, to John and Oma Word. She married Howard Smith and together had one son, Kenneth. She was a devout Baptist and was a long-time member of Wedgewood Baptist Church. Gigi enjoyed reading. Most of all, Gigi will be remembered for the love and devotion she had for her family – particulary her grand-children and great-grandchildren.

Gigi is survived by her son, Kenneth of Granbury; her grandchildren, Nicholas Smith and Angie Seago and husband, Dustan; by her great - grandchildren, Maddie, Noah, and Sam Seago; and by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Gigi was precede by her husband, Howard in 1991; and by her siblings, Delma Crawford, Glenda Robison, and G.W. Word.
