Barbara Ann Sportsman

  Barbara Ann Sportsman, 76, of Weatherford passed away Monday February 6, 2012. Barbara was born February 26, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan to Thomas Howard Richards, Sr. and Barbara Rue (Blitz) Richards. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Barbara was a homemaker that enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She had also been known to go gambling at the horse races and vacation in Branson, Missouri. Mrs. Sportsman’s greatest accomplishment was cherishing her family. 

  She was preceded in death by her daughter, Terri Lynn Sportsman; father; brother, Tommy Richards; and on February 2, 2012, her mother.

  Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Jerry; son, Jerry R. Sportsman, both of Weatherford; grandson, Kyle Sportsman and wife, Sandy; great granddaughter, Bailey, and one on the way all of Stephenville; sister, Ellen Boswell; brother, Billy Richards, both of Weatherford; and a loving family of nieces and nephews.

  Graveside service: 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 11, 2012, in the East Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. Please honor her memory with a gift to a charity of choice.
