On Thursday, May 19, 2016, the world lost a beautiful soul, Barbara Welborn Goodnight, of Weatherford, Texas. Barbara was born on August 20, 1973, in Fort Worth, Texas.
Barbara was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, mother, friend, and counselor. She had the voice of an angel and a heart for Jesus (Ephesians 4:11 prophet). She is now resting in His almighty arms and we are eternally grateful for His love and mercy.
We are all familiar with her story and know that she fought powerful demons for a very long time. Some might say she lost the battle but I prefer to think of it as she won the war. Yes, her sweet, beautiful self is no longer with us on this earth, but she was without a doubt a child of God's. The world lost a beautiful, vibrant, young woman that could light up the darkest of rooms. She knew Him, she loved Him, and she considered it an honor to share the love and grace of Jesus with everyone with whom she came into contact. God showed mercy on his precious little girl with the voice of an angel and took her home so he could cradle her in His almighty arms and let her finally rest. He saw that she had suffered and fought long enough and her heart was weary. We will surely miss hearing her laughter (she would make this little snorting sound, so cute), her beautiful smile, her song, just being in her presence, but we will see her again some day.
Barbara was preceded in death by two sisters, Teresa Dromgoole and Roxann Bunch Barrett and two brother-in-laws, Dennis Littleton and Steve Gist. Survivors include her son, Daniel Grant Goodnight, her mother, Donna Harper; her father, Carl Welborn, Dale Bunch and his wife Nickey; her siblings, Cheryl Littleton, Rick Davis, Laurie McCawley, Daniel Davis and wife, Sandy, Christie Lopez-Wasik and husband, Mike, Tracy Davis, Ronnie Davis and wife, Wendy, Becky Harper Turner and husband, Toby, Jean Gist, Dwayne Bunch and wife, Deanna, Louida Bunch Owen and husband, RD, Glen Fairless and wife, Sherry , and Martisha Fairless. Barbara also had many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Thank you God for your mercy and grace. She touched the lives of so many and will be missed by all.
