Barbara Jane Jones

  Barbara Jane Jones passed away at home Sunday, April 6, 2014. Born September 22, 1946, in Santa Anna, Texas, to William Harvey and Fannie May McIntire; Barbara was one of eight children. Barbara’s mother Fannie passed away when she was just two; Barbara was raised by her loving step-mother, Ruby McIntire. After high school, Barbara was working at a beauty shop in Abilene, Texas, when she stopped one day for gas and met Larry Jones. It was love at first sight. They married in 1965. 

  Barbara became a LVN and worked for Weatherford Regional Medical Center taking care of people for 28 years. She and Larry raised their two children in Weatherford and were members of Friendship Baptist Church. Barbara was a special lady, a caregiver and will be missed greatly.

  Barbara leaves behind her husband of almost 50 years, Larry Jones of Weatherford; children, Lori Jones of Fort Worth and Gary Jones of San Antonio; five four-legged beautiful granddaughters; sisters, Olivia Elam, Peggy Hibbs, and Judy Zabel; brothers, Matt McIntire, Tommy McIntire, Larry McIntire; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.  

  Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Linda Osburn.

  A visitation will be at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel Tuesday, April 8, 2014, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A funeral will be at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at 10:30 a.m., with interment at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
