Barbara Jean Parker, 82, of Cool, passed away Tuesday morning, January 31, 2017, at Hilltop Park Nursing and Rehab Center, in Weatherford.
Funeral service: 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 3, 2017, at Holders Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Sanders officiating.
Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.
Memorials: Millsap ISD, Teachers College Fund.
Barbara was born October 18, 1934, in Fort Worth, to Deedee and Willie Mae Crowell Wiggins. She was a devoted school teacher for 34 years, teaching at Millsap Elementary School, mostly 4th grade. Her proudest moments were teaching the students and making a difference in their lives. Barbara was a member of Holders Chapel United Methodist Church and the Retired Teachers Association.
She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Monty Wiggins, Rayleen Smyrl, and Francis Coalson.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Jack; daughter, Jackie Hartt and husband, Bradley of Decatur; sons, Brad Parker and wife, JoAnn of Granbury and David Parker of Cool; sister, Karen Hunter of Santo; brother, Donald Wiggins and wife, Juanell of Aubrey; eight grandchildren, Chantz Webster, Clint Webster, Matt Schneider, Logan Parker, Bradley Parker, Jereme Parker, Kyle Williams, and Mollie Skelton; and nine great grandchildren.
The Parker family would like to thank Alpha Omega Hospice and Hilltop Park for the tremendous love and care they provided Barbara while in their care.
