Barkley Owen Poteet, 78, passed from this life on Thursday, October 27, 2022. Barkley was born December 9, 1943 in Fort Worth, Texas, to Charles Owen Poteet and Gladys Louise (Cuthbertson) Poteet.

Barkley proudly served his country in the United States Army for twelve years, serving two tours in Vietnam, discharging as a Staff Sergeant. He worked for many years as an Aircraft Inspector and retired from Vought Aircraft. Barkley was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Bo will be remembered for his generous loving spirit, silly cheerful heart, his never-ending storytelling, great advice, faith in God, strength, positive attitude and love for his family, friends and country, as well as service to his surrounding community.

Barkley is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Betty (Blackwell) Poteet of Fort Worth, Texas; two children, Amy Nicol and spouse, Dee Thomas and Aaron Poteet; five grandchildren, Matthew Nicholson, Abigail Nicholson, Martin Nicol, Brittoney Ray and Cannon Moore; and three great grandchildren, Layla Anderson, Leonardo Taylor, and Mace Moore; and many loving extended family members.

Barkley was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Michelle Poteet Ray.

A memorial service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m., on Monday, October 31, 2022, at Galbreaith Pickard Hilltop Chapel, 4941 I-20 Frontage Road, Willow Park, 76087.
