Barnita Joy Simpson, 80, of Millsap, passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2022. She was born August 23, 1941, in Weatherford, Texas, to Finis C. and Juanita Swain Crelia. She was a 1959 Weatherford High School graduate. Barnita was a loving and devoted homemaker. Barnita obtained an associate degree in child development and after raising her family she was able to share her love and kindness with children, dogs, and flowers galore.
Barnita is survived by her husband of 61 years, Wilford Wayne Simpson; her two children and their spouses, Shelley and Albert Hollingsworth, and Derek and Camilla Simpson; six grandchildren, Michelle Tillman, Rachelle Gouge, Chance Hollingsworth, Stefan Simpson, Brooke Hollingsworth, Douglas Gouge, and Alexis Waddington; and three great grandchildren, Marissa Tillman, Landon Simpson, Charlotte Simpson.
She was preceded in death by parents, Finis Crelia and Juanita Mitchell; sisters, Myrna Dobbins and Carolyn Barney; and adopted brother, Joe Noland.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 9, 2022, at Newberry Cumberland Presbyterian Church 1301 Newberry Rd, Millsap, Texaas 76066.
