Basil Greer Garrett, 85 of Willow Park, Texas died peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family on April 28, 2017. Basil was born November 26, 1931 in Kosse, Texas to Basil and Faye Garrett. Basil graduated from Woodrow Wilson high school. He joined the United States Air Force shortly thereafter, where he served during the Korean War. He was an Airmen First Class and worked as an Electronics Technician. While stationed in Germany, he met the love of his life, Hedwig Schober. They were married in Waco, Texas on August 26, 1955. They recently celebrated 61 years of marriage. After leaving the Air Force Basil went to school at Baylor University and then to work for the Federal Aviation Administration as an Electronics Technician and retired from there in 1987. He was active in politics and a member of the John Birch Society. He also loved to garden. He was preceded in death by his parents, Basil Garrett and Faye Stokes and his sister Celeste Williams.
He is survived by his wife - Hedwig Garrett; His son, Steven Garrett of Red River, New Mexico, his daughter and son-in-law, Shauna C. and Bill Ward of Fort Worth, his sister, Connie Howerton and many nieces, great nephews and great nieces.
