Bertie Marguerite Gandee

  Bertie Marguerite Gandee, 91, of Weatherford, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2016, at her residence. 

  Funeral service: 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow at Zion Hill Cemetery. 

  Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home. 

  Bertie was born July 24, 1924, in Parker County, Texas, to Willie and Gertie Mitchell. She was a homemaker, a longtime active member of the Zion Hill Community and helped her husband farm several acres of land. Bertie loved gardening, watching birds and she was an incredible cook. 

  Bertie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donley E. Gandee; and a sister, Sylvia Phelan. 

  She is survived by her sons, D. Everett Gandee, II and wife, Elizabeth Buch-Gandee, Wesley Gandee and wife, Cynthia, Joe Gandee and wife, Karin, and Roger Gandee and wife, Jane; sister, Evelyn Sosebee; nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
