Bessie McKeown Long

Bessie McKeown Long, 81, of Weatherford passed away Thursday, December 17, 2015.
Bessie was born May 13th 1934 in Jacksonville, TX to Rodney W. McKeown and Ruth Pirkle McKeown. Bessie was a dedicated member of Hilltop Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Weatherford chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She loved her family, cooking and gardening. Bessie is held in the hearts of her extended family as the much beloved matriarch. She will be dearly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Royce and Floyd McKeown, her sisters Gladys ”Ga” McKeown, Wanda Ragle, Jean Roberts and Barbara Lombardi.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years Bobby Gene David Long, her son Robert Long, her daughter Joy Bess Gunter and husband Ron, her granddaughter Melody Procter and husband Doug, granddaughter Katie Gunter, sister Linda Wadlington and husband Darrell, brothers David McKeown and wife Linda, Donald McKeown and wife Sara, sister-in-law Diana McKeown and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel at 10:00 am Monday, December 21, 2015. Interment at East Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation from 3-5 pm Sunday, December 20, 2015.
