Betty Lou Verret

Betty Lou Verret, 74, of Shepherd, passed away Friday, October 16, 2009 in a nursing facility.  Born September 25, 1935 in Waco, Texas, she was a resident of Weatherford for a short time before moving to Shepherd.  Betty was a social worker and a homemaker.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Elta Martin and her sisters, Patty Benton and Rose Marie Martin.  Betty is survived by her husband Don Verret of Shepherd; daughters, Debby Mlcak and husband Melvin of Katy, Beverly Watson of Shepherd, Carlene Higgins and husband James of St. Augustine and Tanya Huss and husband Jeremiah of Pearl River, LA; sisters, Mona Surginer and husband Pete and Darylene Massey both of Weatherford; brother, Harold Martin and wife Pat of Bridge City; 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
 
Funeral Service: 10:00 AM Monday, October 19, 2009 in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel with interment in Bethel Cemetery.  Visitation: 6-8 PM, Sunday at the funeral home.  Galbreaith Pickard in charge of arrangements
