Betty Jean Plumlee Wagner, age 90, peacefully departed from this world on Tuesday, August 27, 2024. She was born April 24, 1934, in the Zion Hill Community, where she remained a dedicated member of the community her entire life. Betty was a proud alumna of Peaster ISD. After Peaster, she attended Weatherford College where she played basketball. Betty married JD Wagner, the father of her five children, in 1952. She possessed an unwavering love and support for all her children. Betty was a devoted "Granna" to her grandchildren and supported them endlessly in all their endeavors and was so proud of their accomplishments.
Betty was the daughter of Loyce and Edith Plumlee. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Janette Plumlee and Levonne Overstreet, also, her infant child, James Lary.
Betty was survived by her children, Gary Wagner, Brett and wife, Karen Wagner, Janna and husband, Ed Daugherty, and Maurielle and husband, Rocky Williams; her ten grandchildren, Casey Wagner, Jerrad and wife, Autumn Bouldin, Clay and wife, Ashleigh Daugherty, Summer and husband, Ryan Sigman, Erica Anderson, Skye and husband, John Michael Kleven, Shayla and husband, Jonathan Pelletier, Miles and wife, Blair Wagner, Bailee and husband, Taylor King, and Zach and wife, Camryn Williams. She also has nine great grandchildren. She was also survived by a niece, Le, and two nephews, De and Kaj, from her sister, Levonne.
Many thanks to the caregivers at Hilltop Park Rehabilitation and Care Center for the love and nurture they provided Betty during her time there.
A visitation for family and friends is from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 5, 2024, followed by her funeral ceremony on Friday, September 6, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., both at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, in Weatherford, Texas. The burial will follow immediately after at Zion Hill Cemetery.
Betty was raised in the faith of Jesus as her Lord and savior and is excited for her family and friends to join her one day in Heaven.
