Bettye Crow Caraway Swint

  Bettye Crow Caraway Swint passed away peacefully on August 24, 2024, in Weatherford, Texas. Bettye was born to Lewis and Corine Crow on August 3, 1930. Growing up she attended schools in Gilmer, Houston, and Fort Worth. While in Fort Worth, she met and married James E. Caraway; together they celebrated over 30 years of marriage before his death in May of 1978.

  Bettye retired from Montgomery Ward after 35 years. She married a second time to Tom Swint, celebrating 33 years together until his passing in 2017.

  Bettye was also preceded in death by parents, Lewis and Corine Crow; sister, Lonnie Crow Fletcher; nephew, Lewis “Beau” Derden; son-in-law, Jim Swint; and a number of other loved ones including her pets.

  Survivors include nieces, Darrelyn Derden Littlepage and Candy Fletcher; grandson, Travis Swint; great-granddaughter, Riley Swint; daughter-in-love, Connie Bainter Swint; numerous great nieces and nephews, and cousins and friends.

  Bettye's funeral service will be held at Friendship Baptist Church, in Weatherford, Texas. A brief time of visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by the funeral ceremony, at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, August 31, 2024.
