ALEDO -- Billie Karen Sims, 67, died Saturday, May 29, 2010. Billie was born Feb. 22, 1943, in Lawton, Oklahoma to Earl and Edna Mae Mercer. In 1984 she married Jim Sims. She was a school teacher all her life. She taught in Palo Pinto, Birdville and Granbury ISD schools in Texas and Eisenhower Middle School in Lawton, Oklahoma. Mrs. Sims was a faithful member of North Side Baptist Church where she served in the choir. She was also a former member of Bluffdale Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors: She is survived by her husband, Jim Sims; children, Ron Baker and wife, Kelly, Blake Baker and wife, Angel, and Michelle Anderson and husband, Steve; stepchildren, Jeffrey Sims and wife, Margo, Jimmy Sims and wife, Tamara, and Janna Hoffman and husband, Dan; grandchildren, Bella, Caleb, Ryan, Reece, Jack, Bindi, John, Jessica, Jacob, Chaz, Tanner, Jennifer, Jordan, Jared, Justin, and Jayden; brother, Earl Mercer, Jr.; and sister, Pat Sanders
Funeral: 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, at North Side Baptist Church.
Interment: Sunset Memorial Gardens in Lawton, Oklahoma.
Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Wednesday, June 2, 2010, in the Sunset Memorial Gardens, in Lawton, Oklahoma.
Memorials: North Side Baptist Church building fund.
