Billy James Dixon, age 87, of Weatherford, died early Friday morning, August 23, 2013 in a Fort Worth Hospital.  Born July 16, 1926 in Gilliand, Texas a resident of Weatherford for many years.  He retired from General Motors before attending the Baptist Seminary in Fort Worth and becoming a pastor.  Mr. Dixon was a retired pastor of the Ranger Highway Fellowship Baptist Church.  He attended Arlington State College, a Seaman First Class World War II Navy veteran and he loved hunting, mountains and most of all his family.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Chester and Veta Asalee Dixon, Sisters, Betty Jo Haney, Marie Bell, Katherine Franks, Daughter –Debbie Michelle Dixon, First Wife, Eleanor Louise Dixon, Grandchildren, Joy  and Vanessa Dixon, Samantha Elson and Nichole Furr.

Wife – Pearl Dixon of Weatherford
Daughters – Patricia Kubicek and husband, John of Jacksonville, Florida
                    Stephanie Furr and husband, Donnie of Surprise, Arizona
                    Kelley Woodward and husband, Larry of Weatherford
Sons – Stephen Hensley Dixon and wife, Peggy of New London, Minnesota
            Kevin Lee Dixon of Weatherford
Step-Sons – Darryl Lloyd Wadlington, and wife Linda
                     Terry Lee Wadlington and wife Diane
Step-daughter – Patricia Ann Spears
17 Grandchildren
Numerous great grandchildren
 

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday,
August 26, 2013 in the Galbreaith Pickard Chapel with interment in East
Greenwood Cemetery. 
Visitation will be 6-8 PM, Sunday, August 25, 2013 at the funeral home. 
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Muscular Dystrophy association.
