Billy Lynn Hamilton, age 74, of Weatherford, passed away Friday, July 15, 2016, with his family by his side. Billy was born December 16, 1941 in Cleburne. He was a graduate of Cleburne High School and received his bachelor’s degree from Tarleton State University.
Billy worked as a civilian contractor for the Red River Army Base where he met the love of his life and best friend, Wilma Jean. Forty-nine wonderful years have passed since their wedding on December 30, 1967.
Billy was afforded the opportunity to travel the country as a civil servant and see some of the most amazing places one could only wish for. Billy loved history, archaeology and antique cars. Billy loved the family business Hamilton Wholesale Meats of Weatherford that he owned and operated with his sons and father for forty-nine years.
Billy has three sons and daughters-in-law, Shane and Kati Hamilton, Andy and Lori Hamilton, and David and Mandi Hamilton, all of Weatherford; sister, Marcona Berry of Weatherford; ten grandchildren, Christopher, Taylor, Chase, Kody, Adalyn, Aaron, Skyler, Kaylee, Lauren, and Jaxson; and his mother-in-law, whom he adored, Louise Gibson.
On this day a wonderful man, husband, and father, passed on to be with his parents, J. B. Hamilton and Helen Margaret Beard Hamilton. His family finds comfort that Billy was saved and is now in the arms of Christ.
Funeral service 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at First Baptist Church Millsap. Interment Greenwood Community Cemetery. Curtis Butler will officiate.
