Birdie Idell Low Cotter

January 20, 1907 — April 28, 2011

Birdie Idell Low Cotter was born in Wingate, Runnels County, Texas to Jim and Lena Hancock Low on January 20, 1907, and she passed into heaven on April 28, 2011.  Birdie married Clifford Victor Cotter in Big Spring, Texas in 1930, and they lived in Texas, Arkansas, and California before moving to Weatherford in 1946.   She was a charter member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, and long time member and Past Worthy Matron of the Pythian Sisters Lodge.

She is survived by her son Gene of Weatherford; son Sam and wife Ruth Lynn of Weatherford; four grandchildren Dena McRoberts and husband Shawn of Forney; Chris Cotter and his wife Lara of Kingwood; Shari Hedstrom of Weimar; and Kelli McAnally and her husband Bryan of Flower Mound.  Thirteen great grandchildren: Brittany and Austin McRoberts of Forney; Sam and Zack Cotter of Kingwood; Ethan and Nolan Powell of Kingwood; Lynlee Hedstrom of Lubbock; Nolan Hedstrom of Austin; Samantha and Mitchell Hedstrom of Weimar; and Kaylyn, Cotter, and Kelsi McAnally of Flower Mound. One sister, Mickey Orrell of Mineral Wells; and numerous relatives.
She was preceeded in death by her infant son Darrell Don, her husband Clifford Victor Cotter, and by her grandson Clifford Mark Cotter.
Funeral service will be at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Weatherford at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 4.  Visitation will be at Galbreiath Pickard Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 3, from 6:00 till 8:00 p.m.
