Blanche Inez Shannon

Mrs. Blanche Inez Shannon passed away July 16 2010 after an extended stay in Peachtree Place Alzheimer’s Home, Weatherford, TX. Blanche lived a full and varied life after her birth in 1914.  She was raised, as many were at that time, working the fields and tending the livestock along with her parents and nine brothers and sisters.  She married Earl H. (Bill) Shannon December 22, 1934 and their love never ended, or faltered, through 62 years of marriage and lived on in Blanche’s heart even after Bill’s death in 1996.  Many loved Blanche as she loved all of her family and friends.  She loved to laugh, sing and dance.  She was always the gracious hostess be it for a family gathering, or for gathering and parties for husband Bill’s business connections before he retired.  Her quick smile warmed people’s hearts.  Blanche was a wonderful and loving wife to her husband Bill and a fantastic mother to her son Billie (Bill).  All will miss her. Survivors:  Sister; Mavis Brock, Blanche’s last remaining sibling, son Billie, Grandsons Raymond and Reynold, Granddaughter Ronda, eight great grandchildren, her closest friend Mary Burton whom she loved like a daughter and numerous nieces and nephews. Blanche will have a graveside service and burial at 2:00 pm Wednesday, July 21, 2010 next to her husband at Davis Cemetery in Grapeland, Texas.
