Bobbie Sue Keel

January 2, 1937 — July 19, 2024

Bobbie Sue (Dodd) Keel, age 87, peacefully passed from this life on Friday, July 19, 2024. Born January 2, 1937, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Homer Dodd and Marie Farmer, she later married the love of her life, Arnold Keel, in 1957, eventually settling in the Weatherford area and raising three wonderful children. Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents and later by her beloved husband, in 2022.

As avid fans, Bobbie shared a deep love for sports with Arnold, often watching Mavericks and Rangers games. Additionally, they enjoyed traveling, breaking away from their duties now and then to vacation and enjoy the cruise ships. Above all, raising her family was her sole priority and purpose. Bobbie took care of everyone and cooked for them. She was delighted when grandchildren and great grandchildren arrived; she loved each one and enjoyed shopping for them.

Bobbie will be remembered as a loving caregiver who cared for everyone from people to animals. She raised cattle and gave every single one of them a name. No stranger to hard work, she would pick up feed from the feed store to feed them, then tirelessly tend to her garden, canning her own produce; Bobbie was renowned for making delicious hot sauce!

She absolutely loved going to her church, Sanctuary of Praise in White Settlement, where she could freely express her love for singing and praise. Bobbie's selflessness extended to ensuring others could attend church by driving them there herself; once at the church, she dedicated her day to serving those around her.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Jackie Kerr and wife, Fonda of Mineral Wells, Texas; daughter, Sherri Keel of Weatherford, Texas; daughter, Sandy Hopkins and husband, Johnny of Weatherford, Texas; grandchildren, Monica Steward and husband, Jamie, Douglas Hopkins and wife, Amanda, and Lacy Kerr; great-grandchildren, Ashtyn Steward, Jaxon Steward, Kaylee Hopkins, Emma Hopkins, another great-granddaughter on the way, and Max Cross; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, whom she raised and cared for as her own.

A graveside service honoring Bobbie's life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at the Lemley Cemetery, in Weatherford, Texas, officiated by Clayton Phillips.

Those who wish to pay their respects may also attend the visitation on Monday, July 22, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, in Weatherford, Texas.
