"To know him is to love him."

Bobby Dale Jones, 80, of Weatherford, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2024, with his sister, Sharon, by his side in the town where he was born on December 22, 1943. Bobby, the beloved son of William L. Jones and Sarah L. Muller Jones, grew up in Weatherford alongside his siblings, Fred, Sharon, Larry, and Terry.

Bob was a proud veteran who served his country in the United States Air Force, exemplifying the same dedication and perseverance that would define his life. He was a man of remarkable skill and a deep love for working with his hands.

Whether fixing things around the house or working on cars, his practical abilities brought him great joy. He also loved boating and taking people out on the water, sharing his zest for life with others. He enjoyed life to the fullest and knew how to have a good time, spreading that joy to everyone around him. He was kind and had a generous spirit that touched everyone he met. Bob made friends wherever he went, forming connections that enriched his life and those around him. An avid fisherman, he cherished quiet moments by the water and the camaraderie it brought with friends and family.

Bob had a distinguished career in computer analytics, showcasing his intellect and problem-solving abilities. Generosity and resilience were at the core of his character. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, never expecting anything in return, and he faced life’s challenges with unwavering determination. He was a peacemaker, bringing calm and resolution wherever he could, and he carried joy in his heart that he readily shared with those around him. He was the kind of man who never gave up when things got hard and never complained, no matter the circumstances.

Bob is survived by his devoted daughter, Cyndi McLaughlin, and her husband, Corey McLaughlin; his cherished grandchildren, Titius and his wife, Amanda, Jacob and his wife, Katelyn, Allie, Piper, and Apostolos McLaughlin; and his great-grandchildren, Chloe, Anthem, and Israel McLaughlin; his sister, Sharon Bohning; his brother, Larry Jones and wife, Jan; his brother, Terry Jones and wife, Tweedi; numerous beloved nieces and nephews; and many treasured friends.

He was preceded into eternity by his parents, Lin and Sarah Jones; his brother, Fred Jones; his son, James Jones; and his beloved great-grandchildren, Blaire McLaughlin and Shiloh McLaughlin.

Bob's legacy is one of love, service, and quiet strength. He will be remembered for his selflessness, perseverance, joyful spirit, and ability to bring peace to those around him.

As a teenager, Bob gave his life to the Lord and received the gift of salvation through the sacrifice Jesus made for him on the cross. We celebrate knowing that he is overflowing with joy in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We praise our heavenly Father that the waters in paradise that Bob is fishing today are more beautiful than those of our wildest imaginations!

Bob’s life will be celebrated at Annetta Methodist Church, 2836 W. FM 5, Annetta, Texas, where friends and family will gather to honor a life well-lived.

Service will be held Friday, December 20th, at noon, with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m., and the burial following at Annetta Cemetery.
