Bobbye Lou Roberts

Bobbye L. Roberts, 89, of Weatherford, passed away Monday morning, January 15, 2018 at Willow Park Nursing & Rehab in Willow Park.

Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 2 P.M., on Friday, January 19, 2018, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm Street, in Weatherford. Burial will follow at East Greenwood Cemetery in Weatherford. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 P.M., Thursday evening, at the funeral home.

Bobbye was born on August 19, 1928, in Olney, Texas to Fred and Adelle Sledge. She married Don Roberts and together had 3 children, Donna, Carolyn, and Stephen. Bobbye was a long-time member of the South Main Church of Christ in Weatherford where she also worked as an office administrator. She later worked for the Weatherford City government. She enjoyed painting and riding her horse, Josey. Most of all, Bobbye cherished time spent with her family – particularly with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Bobbye is survived by her children, Donna Stephens, Carolyn (George) Martin, and Stephen Roberts; grandchildren, Stephanie Stephens, Craig (Lisa) Martin, Scot Martin, Christopher (Lacey) Roberts; great-grandchildren, Justina, Ian, Avery, Collin, and Connor; and by her sister, Billye Long.

In addition to her parents, Bobbye was preceded in death by her husband, Don, and by her siblings, Emmett Sledge and Odessa Wood.
