Bonnie Dewveall Edwards, 85, of Weatherford, passed away on Monday evening, February 17, 2020, at her home.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday evening, February 28, at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm Street, in Weatherford. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, February 29, 2020, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at East Greenwood Cemetery.
Bonnie was born on February 22, 1934, in Levelland, Texas. She was the last of 13 children born to Alford Bailey Dewveall and Minnie Ola Ferguson. Bonnie married William Clyde “Slim” Edwards in June 1952. They raised their children in Weatherford and made many lifelong friends.
Bonnie retired from the City of Weatherford after over 20 years of service. Prior to that, she worked as a Librarian for Weatherford College. Bonnie ‘loved life and loved people.’ She was an excellent cook and seamstress. Most of all, Bonnie will be affectionately remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who was devoted to her family.
Bonnie is survived her children, Judy and husband, Robert Walker, Norman Edwards and wife, Lesli, Nathan Edwards, and daughter-in-law, Mandy; her grandchildren, Amanda, Kyle, Stephanie, Truman, Tyler, Scarlett, Sarah and Connor; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Jaclyn, Cooper, Molly, Lucy, Landrum, Bri, Aubrey, Callaway, Stetson, Stephanie, Carter, Camden, Kenna, Lincoln, and Caylen.
In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Slim; her children, Elaine and Herbert Edwards; and by 12 brothers and sisters.
