Brigida "Bertha" Torres

Brigida “Bertha” Torres, 97 of Fort Worth died Wednesday August 1, 2007 at her residence. Born October 8, 1909 in Monterrey, Nueva Leon, Mexico, she was a resident of Tarrant County for several years. Bertha was a housekeeper, homemaker and a member of the Catholic Church. She enjoyed painting, knitting, cooking, sewing, quilting, dancing, creating ceramics, making flower arrangements and jewelry.  Bertha is preceded in death by her parents Nicolas and Porfidia Ramirez Pachicano and her husband Francisco Torres. She is survived by her daughters, Liz Ortiz of Lubbock and Vita Torres Girdler and husband Willard of Roanoke; sons, Salvador Torres, Ray Torres and wife Kay of Weatherford and Bennie Torres of Fort Worth; sisters, Patricia Yepez of Round Rock, Rosalea Trevino of Lamesa and Nieves Ybarra of Brighton, Colorado; brother, Louis Pachicano of Wolfforth; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral service: 10:00 AM Monday August 6, 2007 in St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Grapevine with interment to follow in Bluebonnet Hills Cemetery. Rosary will be at 6:00 PM Sunday in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.
