Brooks E. Whiteside

Brooks E. Whiteside, age 80, departed from this life on Sunday, June 23, 2024. Brooks was born August 20, 1943, in Russellville, Arkansas, to the late Brooks B. Whiteside and Rheaba (Benefiel) Whiteside. 

After graduating from Fremont High School, Brooks dedicated a part of his life serving his country with great pride in the United States Air Force from '63-'67. Following his service in the military, he continued his career at Lockheed Martin as a model builder until his retirement after 37 years.

Above all else, Brooks cherished his family deeply. He is fondly remembered by his beloved wife of 60 years, Glindolyn (Sanders) Whiteside of Hudson Oaks, Texas; daughter, Mandy Heunemann; son, Brent Whiteside; and six adored grandchildren, Brett Whiteside, Brandon Gorman, Brandi Heunemann, Broden Heunemann, Joshua Heunemann, and Jillian Heunemann.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Betty Menconi, Carol Johnson, and Laura Dokken, and his brother, Ray Whiteside.

A memorial service honoring his life will be held at a later date. Brooks will always be cherished and remembered for his dedication to both his work and his family. May he rest in peace.
