Calvin Ray Cowart

Ray Cowart, age 79, of Weatherford, Texas passed away Saturday, February 4, 2017. He was born March 7, 1937 in Jarrell, Texas, to Wilburn Lee Cowart and Lois Louise (Whitley) Cowart. Ray was a retired truck driver and a member of the Teamsters Union. He was of the United Methodist faith. Ray enjoyed going to the Texas vs. OU game with his grandsons, plowing his garden, going to auctions and loved the car business. Survivors include children, Cindy Cook and husband, Don of Rowlett, and Laura Rowland and husband, Randy G. of Justin; grandchildren, James Adams and wife, Danielle of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Jerrad Adams and wife Shawna of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Jason Adams of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Jeana Adams-Buford and husband, Walter Eugene “Blue” of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Thomas Landers of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Randy W. Rowland of Justin and many more in addition to several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Margie Ann Landers in 2014.


Funeral service: 2 p.m., Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel. Visitation: 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, February 8, at the funeral home. Interment will be at Corn Hill Cemetery in Jarrell, Texas at a later date.
