Carl Binzer

Carl Binzer passed away peacefully at age 82 in Weatherford Texas in the early morning of Saturday March 9, 2013 with his children at his side after struggling with pneumonia.  [His beloved wife of 58 years had died just 7 weeks earlier.] 
Carl is survived by his children- Carol D. Binzer PhD, Thomas C. Binzer, M.D. & Tara Larson Binzer;  his grandchildren- Larson Elizabeth and Patrick Carl Binzer; his sister-in-law - Judy (Bachmann) Ellis and brother-in-law-Don Ellis of Virginia.  Carl was uncle and cousin to many.  He will be remembered for his quiet strength, his consistency, steadfast love for his family, and devotion to his beliefs.
Born in New York City (Brooklyn), Carl was an engineer.  He obtained a degree in Electrical Engineering from Brooklyn Polytechnic College, now a part of New York University, and a degree in Business-Marketing from Rutgers.  A veteran, Carl served in the U.S. Navy (ROTC) through high school and college and the U.S. Army as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army Corps of Engineers.  He worked for RCA, Northrop-Page, Harris and retired from General Electric.  He often worked on defense contracts relating to communications and provided leadership on several overseas assignments in Greece and Nicaragua most notably. 
The Binzer Family is grateful for all of the kindness, support, love and prayers throughout Carl and Bette’s journey; especially to the doctors and health professionals for their extraordinary expertise and care, and Parish friends for their care and attention to their physical needs, and to those who nurtured them spiritually.
Carl Binzer is pre-deceased by his wife (Elizabeth); his parents (Stella & Charles Binzer); his in-laws (Dorothy & Maurice Bachmann) and his grandson Cornelius Butler.

The Funeral Mass will be at 1pm at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, 1802
Bethel Road, Weatherford Texas 76086 on Saturday, March 16, 2013.  A
viewing will be held at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Home 913 N. Elm in
Weatherford on Friday, March 15, 2013 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm with rosary
at 7pm.
