Carl Derwood Lester

Poppa, the man, the myth, the legend, a devoted Christian, Carl Lester went to be with his Lord on December 31, 2019. 

Graveside service: 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 3, 2020, at Memory Gardens Cemetery, with Rev. Lynn Crosslin officiating.

Carl loved the Lord Jesus with all his heart, his family, church, friends and playing softball.

He played with the Senior Softball Association until he was 83 years old. He was a deacon in his church in Arlington for many years and was a member of Harmony Baptist Church of Weatherford for 20 years.

Carl was survived by his wife of 61 years, LaRaye; daughter, Margie Lewis; three grandsons, Zachary Lewis and Hope, Matthew Lewis and Katherine, Ben Lewis and Lauren; granddaughter, Bethany Bradley; great-grandson, Wolfie Lewis; great-granddaughter, Ellie Bradley; his brother, Gene Lester; and many other relatives and friends, including his special friend, Henry Kitchens.
