Carl Jack Edwards

Carl Jack Edwards, 85, died May 12, 2021, at an Arlington Hospital. He was born July 21, 1935, in Weatherford, Texas, to Landon and Helen Ross Edwards. 

Jack was a member of Weatherford High School class of 1953, where he ran track and played football. He was a member of the WHS Boys Track Team District 4AA Champions, who were inducted in the WHS Hall of Fame, 2012. He married the love of his life, JoAnn Barker (Class of 1956) on August 19, 1955. They celebrated 65 years together last August.

Jack worked for Stratoflex, Inc. for 20 years. He worked mostly in the home branch in Fort Worth, but did manage the Fort Wayne, Indiana production for a year, and was General Manager of the United Kingdom operation in Glasgow, Scotland for four years. During those four years, he would visit their plants in Germany, Holland, and France two or three times per year keeping their production and technical data up to date. After Stratoflex he owned and operated Edwards Tire and Automotive for eight years. He sold his business in 1981 and he and JoAnn lived in Colorado for two years. After returning to Weatherford, he joined Southwest Ford.

Jack was a proud Elder of the First Presbyterian Church, in Mineral Wells.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Monte. 

Surviving in addition to his wife are his son, Chuck Edwards, and his daughter, Karen Edwards Kramer; grandchildren, Paul Kramer, Jereme Parker, Bradley Parker, Echo Edwards Hill, and husband, Danny Hill, Calem Edwards, and Landrey Edwards.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 North Elm St., Weatherford, Texas.
