Carol Sue Porter, 80, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, of Granbury, passed from this life Tuesday, September 14, 2021.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., on Sunday afternoon, September 19, 2021, at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm Street, in Weatherford. A graveside committal service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Monday, September 20, at Memory Gardens, west of Weatherford.
Carol was born July 22, 1941, in Weatherford, Texas to Leslie and Ola McDonald. She was married to John C. Porter. Carol will be remembered for her hard work ethic and for her love of working with people. She enjoyed Southwestern Art and owned Reservation Traders – a retail shop – on the square in Granbury. Carol enjoyed country dancing and traveling. Most of all, Carol cherished time spent with her family – particularly her children and grandchildren.
Carol is survived by her children, Donna Kay Scheuerell, Marlin Jones, and Jeffery Jones; grandchildren, Branda, William, Robert, Katie, and Rachel; and by 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; her long-time companion, Dudley Mooney; and by her sister, Ann Feuilly and brother, David McDonald.
In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Porter; by her daughter, Diana Sue Faltynski; her grandson, Benjamin Cason; and by her twin-sister, Mary Lou Reed.
